Jimmy Carter: Crisis of Confidence

I've often said to my love, that Carter was a great man, but a presidential failure. But he didn't fail, the people failed. Mightily.

Watch and listen.

  1. Nice clip. It's haunting how relevant it is today. How his description of Congress in '79 describes Congress of '11. Clearly America choose the path toward, "fragmentation and self-interest down that road lies a mistaken idea of freedom" and we are certainly "in constant conflict between narrow interests" and we are in chaos and immobility and we are absolutely a nation in a throws of failure. I suppose this is one time when saying "I told you so" doesn't feel so good.
